Iconic Hart House in Calgary Vandalized

The iconic Hart House in Canada has been vandalized, with the family plaque among the items stolen from the premises.

The news was shared by Georgia Smith, daughter of the late Davey Boy Smith (aka the British Bulldog), on social media.

“Any information on who stole these from the Hart House property, please contact @CalgaryPolice,” she wrote on Twitter/X.

In a related post on Instagram, Georgia expressed her dismay over the incident. She revealed her family’s reaction to the stolen Hart Family plaques, again tagging the Calgary Police in her announcement.

“It makes me upset and mad to see this ?? Especially right before Canada Day. Any info on who stole bronze the [sic] plaques from the Hart House please contact us and the @calgarypolice,” she wrote on Instagram. “This is the last piece of my grandfather connected to that house. Our family is crushed that’s these were stolen off the property of Hart House. If anyone has any information please reach out to any of us or the @calgarypolice ??

Hart House heist makes it to local news

It didn’t take long for Canada’s local media outlets to report on the robbery. The Calgary Herald revealed the number of plaques stolen from the iconic home.

“Four bronze plaques that were secured to brick pillars at the entrance of the 5,600-square-foot Hart House were taken in mid-June — an act that also left damage to the pillars,” the outlet reported.

“For years, people came here and had their pictures taken in front of the plaques,” CH quoted Brooke Hart, one of the 39 grandchildren of Stu and Helen Hart, in its report. “People used to come from all over and pose in front of them.”

WrestleZone will have more information on the Hart House heist as soon as it becomes available.
